Carntyne Transport are extremely pleased to announce that we have officially signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant.

For those unaware of what this entails, it is a formal pledge between Carntyne and Her Majesty’s Government in which we formally agree that no Veteran or Reservist shall be disadvantaged compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.

We are pleased to offer our support to those who have served in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past and their families.

Carntyne have immediate starts for Class one and Class one ADR Drivers. We understand that changing careers is a big decision; that’s why we try and make the transition as smooth as possible. As an Ex-Serviceman myself, I can testify that the transition to civilian employment, post-service, is an extremely daunting and challenging period.  A lack of awareness of the key skills and attributes that Service Leavers can bring to a prospective employer is one of a number of reasons that applications for jobs often fall at the first hurdle.

The Group already employ a number of Veterans and it is hoped that we can further demonstrate our commitment to the Covenant by forging close links with the Lowland Reserve and Cadet Force Association.

In the coming months, we plan to further publicise our work with the Armed Forces Covenant through literature and livery on our website, setting out how we will seek to honour them and inviting feedback from the Service community and our customers alike.

It is an exciting period for Carntyne Transport and further proof that we will continue to be a forward-thinking, inclusive Employer which champions equal opportunities for all.
