Our team learning about special safety features and difficulties that drivers can experience
Carntyne Transport recently hosted a successful Health & Safety Day at our Blackgrange site, bringing together around 130 members of staff for a day of practical learning, team engagement, and great food — all centred around keeping safety front and centre in everything we do.
The day featured rotating 15–20 minute interactive workstations, covering three key focus areas:
- Manual Handling & Loss of Containment (including a TLV demo)
- Fire Safety Awareness & Prevention, where staff got hands-on experience using fire extinguishers
-
Workplace Transport / Plant & Pedestrian Safety, including the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of a truck and experience the driver’s point of view firsthand
These sessions were not only informative but also fun and engaging — helping bring health and safety concepts to life in a way that was easy to understand and remember.
A massive thank you to everyone who helped run the sessions, your time, effort, and expertise made a real impact. The presentations and hands-on activities were insightful and valuable in building awareness and strengthening our health and safety culture.
We're proud of the ongoing commitment our teams show in Driving Towards Safety. Events like these help ensure we all go home safe — every day.
