Carntyne have been providing AquAid watercoolers in its offices for over a decade. Our unique relationship with AquAid has given our company the opportunity to help those in need because with each purchase, an automatic donation is made to The Africa Trust.

Founded in 2010 by Aquaid, The Africa Trust has the mission of bringing sustainable solutions to poverty in Africa. One of the most effective ways to end the cycle of poverty is empowering a community to care for itself. From the group up, Aquaid have helped fund orphanages, improve clinics and provide skills training giving thousands the opportunity to strengthen their community. Part of this sustainable development includes providing access to clean drinking water and decent sanitation.

Using funds from AquAid partnerships, one initiative is to build ‘Elephant Pumps’ - a modified version of an age-old Chinese rope pulley system. One such pump is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf and it will be a much-needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many.

To date, AquAid have built over 8,000 such Elephant Pumps across parts of Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe; and have donated in excess of £17 million to charity, helping bring clean water to over 2.9 million people.
