Administrator 

Job description

We have an excellent opportunity within Carntyne Transport for an Administrator to assist with our day-to-day operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop new skills in an organisation with an enviable reputation. This role would suit someone who is confident in their ability and is looking to build a career in Administration. Role will be based on site at our head office at Springburn, Glasgow.

Hours of work will be 30 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday, however we are open to flexibility in both working hours and contractual hours to accommodate the right candidate. This is an office-based role ( non-Hybrid ).

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customers via email and telephone
  • Manage a portfolio of customers
  • Book in jobs using our management software package
  • High volume invoice processing
  • Check and reconcile invoices
  • Work to tight weekly and monthly deadlines
  • General ad-hoc duties as and when required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills both internally and externally
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

· The ability to work without supervision and show initiative

  • General office experience is desirable
  • Ideally candidates will have a good understanding of Microsoft Office (in particular, Excel)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to learn new processes
  • Experience of HMRC procedures would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working within a transport office preferred but not essential

The candidate we are looking for

· Previous administration experience, either in a logistical or accounts environment

· Be highly organised, able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks

· Excellent communication skills at all levels

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and key attention to detail

· Knowledge of general Health & Safety.
